To determine if the driver for the current default printer is causing the problem in the Elements Organizer, change the default printer. See Change the system default printer. Once you have disabled the plug-ins, start the Elements 7 Organizer and try to re-create the problem. Damaged or incomplete installation of Photoshop Elements can cause system errors. I bowed to their corporate greed and re-purchased the product because I use it all the time.

I bought this as a christmas gift for a streamer friend, I'm so glad he uses it all the time, he's sooo happy with it, he designed my whole stream layout and revamped his This does everything I need without a subscription. Second edit: I still have no idea how to get my money back from this product.
Adobe tells me that I have to get with Amazon, but Amazon does not appear to respond to me getting my money back. The program is greatly oversold on the Amazon website. This is one of the few times I've ever gotten an Amazon product that is so annoying and badly done.
I wish that someone would would contact me directly from Amazon so I can negate the ridiculous price for this thing. There is no technical support that I can find. This is not easy to learn any more than the real Photoshop is. Adobe has their website and this program appears set up to make it look like there is a ton of help, but it is more about selling added programs. Adobe has done a nice job of creating the fantasy that all of it is easy-peezy, which it is not. I say this having had the subscription for Photoshop and Lightroom for years.
My experience has been near identical to some of the less than complimentary comments on Amazon about this product.
Adobe has appeared to bundle this program so the Amazon customer will require other parts of it. In so many ways Adobe is for creative pros and those with tons of time on their hands. I just wanted something simple. This is just another click bait kind of program with the illusion of help.
My ownership has been less than 24 hours. If you are a big graphics sort of person then you will want the real Photoshop and the money to afford it.
Do not feel sorry for Adobe. They are doing very well among the professional crowd. When Photoshop was young I used it all of the time and it was fairly intuitive. Then they started to add to it, add to it. It has turned into a programmers dream of brain surgery. Got sick of the minutiae and the constant need to figure out how to frame a picture. This program is cursed with the same unfriendly issues.
Adobe has relied a great deal on YouTube movies in order to avoid high tutorial costs. Then you find out that your version of Elements does not match the one in the video. I also read that if you upgrade to Windows 11 this program will not work. If you want to make passport photos with this program I'm pretty sure you can't even do that.
As I said, do not feel sorry for Adobe. They are doing just fine. A good updated program! I have used this program before and it is fantastic, however I purchased it for my own use and it has been a nightmare attempting to download it. I go from Amason library which has no sownload button for it to Adobe site which is no help at all as I could not find anyplace to download either. I have foud all the applicable numbers but no place to enter them for a download.

Before selecting an area, the desired size or ratio must be set by adjusting the width and height. Any changes such as color, filters, location, etc. To crop the selection, the user must go to the image tab and select crop. The lasso tool is similar to the marquee tool, however, the user can make a custom selection by drawing it freehand.
The regular lasso tool allows the user to have drawing capabilities. Photoshop will complete the selection once the mouse button is released. The user may also complete the selection by connecting the end point to the starting point. The "marching ants" will indicate if a selection has been made. The polygonal lasso tool will draw only straight lines, which makes it an ideal choice for images with many straight lines.
Unlike the regular lasso tool, the user must continually click around the image to outline the shape. To complete the selection, the user must connect the end point to the starting point just like the regular lasso tool. Magnetic lasso tool are considered the smart tool. It can do the same as the other two, but it can also detect the edges of an image once the user selects a starting point.
It detects by examining the color pixels as the cursor moves over the desired area. Closing the selection is the same as the other two, which should also should display the "marching ants" once the selection has been closed. The quick selection tool selects areas based on edges, similarly to the magnetic lasso tool.
The difference between this tool and the lasso tool is that there is no starting and ending point. For this reason, the selected area can be added onto as much as possible without starting over. By dragging the cursor over the desired area, the quick selection tool detects the edges of the image. The "marching ants" allow the user to know what is currently being selected.
Once the user is done, the selected area can be edited without affecting the rest of the image. One of the features that makes this tool especially user friendly is that the SHIFT key is not needed to add more to the selection; by default, extra mouse clicks will be added to the selection rather than creating a new selection. The magic wand tool selects areas based on pixels of similar values.
One click will select all neighboring pixels of similar value within a tolerance level set by the user. If the eyedropper tool is selected in the options bar, then the magic wand can determine the value needed to evaluate the pixels; this is based on the sample size setting in the eyedropper tool.
This tool is inferior to the quick selection tool which works much the same but with much better results and more intuitive controls. The user must decide what settings to use or if the image is right for this tool. The Eraser tool erases content based on the active layer. If the user is on the text layer, then any text across which the tool is dragged will be erased.
The eraser will convert the pixels to transparent, unless the background layer is selected. The size and style of the eraser can be selected in the options bar. This tool is unique in that it can take the form of the paintbrush and pencil tools.
In addition to the straight eraser tool, there are two more available options — background eraser and magic eraser. The background eraser deletes any part of the image that is on the edge of an object. This tool is often used to extract objects from the background. The magic eraser tool deletes based on similar colored pixels. It is very similar to the magic wand tool.
